Spork care and end of life

After use, please hand wash and dry. Do not use a dishwasher as the extreme heats in dishwashing will reduce the lifespan of the bamboo.

When the cutlery set has come to the end of its life, you can simply put it in the compost, garden waste or food waste bins that councils collect.

Why we made this ladle and end of life

We are all about zero waste and when we got the opportunity to combine waste materials and make it into a ladle, we thought why not.

It's so much better than using plastic ladles or wood ladles made from virgin wood.

When the product comes to the end of life, you can simply put it in the compost as it is completely biodegradable.

Maker Story

My name is Xiao Li Lin, I am 36 years old, I have been working with the company for 8 years. I have found well paying, consistent and satisfying work through this job.

I live in Nanping County with my family and my hobbies are dancing and shopping. Nearly every evening after I finish work, I go to practice dancing.  It brings me a lot of joy and also keeps me healthy,

I’m one of the people who is responsible for making bamboo toothbrushes and sporks. I hope you love the sporks as much as I do.

The production facility is based in Fujian province in China.

The minimum wage of this province is 1,380 RMB per month, but the artisans are paid nearly double the minimum wage at 2,550 RMB per month. The youngest person to work there is of the age of 22.

Makers work 40 hours a week, 5 days a week. They take all public holidays off.

The artisans are provided with pension and unemployment insurance. As well as with medical, maternity and accident insurance.

The bamboo toothbrushes are shipped via sea freight to minimise the carbon footprint of each product. We offset our carbon emissions and more by planting a tree for every item we sell.

The product does not have any animal derivatives and no plastic. So it's 100% Vegan and plastic-free.
