Why we made the tea strainer and why swap?

Over 100 million tea bags are thrown away every single day in the UK alone! And these tea bags contain plastic lining. Which means that after disposing them, they will not decompose properly and will contaminate the soil with the toxic as the plastic lining will break down into micro plastic. And hey! When we pour hot water onto the tea bags, it releases millions of micro plastics we digest as we drink. YUCK!

With our reusable tea strainer, it's so easy to avoid tea bags! Making brewing tea a beautiful simple process where no plastic is involved.

Through the introduction of our reusable tea strainer, we hope that people switch away from the tea bags and into loose leaf tea.

Tea strainer care and end of life

If tea stains occur, simply use baking soda dissolved in warm water then softy scrub the tea strainer.

After use, wash and wipe tea strainer to keep it in a great condition.

This tea strainer should hopefully last over 20 years. When it does come to it’s end of life, simply put it in your metal recycling or upcycle the item using your own creativity.
