Plastic cotton bud stems are a light plastic, meaning they float on the waters surface. This alongside their small shape means they make their way through sewage treatment centres and out into nature marine environments through regular sewage outfalls.

This is an issue because these plastic pieces end up in our oceans. We made bamboo cotton buds to replace these.
